Oh I know he's not what he was, and that it is time to go. I just didn't know why he wasn't throwing as much. I mean in his last fight he threw the most punches he's ever thrown in a fight if I remember correctly. I just didn't know why he had slowed down so much after the 7th.
Damn, Lampley teared up there.
I tend to believe the bicep excuse because he was starting to do well and then just stopped. Ali just isn’t very good. It was a pretty good scrap at least.
I had Ali winning a close one. Cotto was rocked a few times. Ali was caught and hurt by that right. Pity Cotto couldn't go out with a win but it's better for the division this way. I was sure they were going to give Cotto a draw here.
Feel sorry for Negrete on the undercard, everything was stacked against him but he never stopped trying. Hopefully he drops back to 118 and has some success there. Was never impressed with Vargas early in his career but he has improved and with his advantages he's a tough out for anyone at 122.

If Cotto won I think he would have tried to fight again so it was best he lost.

That was the correct result.
Cotto was hurt a few times before the injury.
He could possibly have another fight but what's the point if he has enough in the bank..cotto has taken enough punishment in his career so he made the right choice.
I’ve realized that Cotto is the first fighter that I have watched his career from beginning to end (well beginning as in when he was still up and coming). Cotto started his career as I started really getting into boxing and has lasted a long time.
And by witnessing a whole career I mean a long and HOF career. I guess I’ve seen Ward through his whole career but it didn’t seem that long because of his layoffs.
