I do believe that was at least one owner ago if not two. I like them better because unlike with the alphabelts you dont have to pay them to be ranked. With the alphabelts you have to pay sanctioning fees to them for your bouts. The more bouts you have sanctioned by them the better your ranking. At least from what I have read from various websites this how it works. If you look at the rankings there a only a few boxers ranked by each alphabelt organization.

That is my 2 cents anyways.
It's all bullshat in my opionion. Boxing is the greatest sport in the world but is ruined by having the worst structure of any sport in the world.

I just wish someone could buy out all the governing bodies and just have one world title belt for each weight.

Unfortunately it seems to be going the other way with new ranking bodies popping up every year. I reckon by about 2030 you could just randomly pick any three letters in any order and you will nearly certainly have the initials of some ranking body.

for WW,they have Zab Judah at number 3 despite having lost 4 of his last 7 fights, they have Urkal at 6,Gatti at 7 above Quintana,Julio,Williams etc. I could give more examples too,I meanw hat do they use to caculate their system??

Also,Margarito has been in the top 10 for 273 FOOOOOOKING WEEKS!! WTF does this man have to do to nail a shot at the big time!!
Zab is 3 because he lost to 1(Baldomir) and 2(Mayweather)

And Margarito has been in the top to for 273 weeks. It's more his fault for not landing a shot because in those 273 weeks he's fought nobody mister rubble.

I wish they could put in a system similar to the American Baseball system. They have several minor leagues where players are assigned and can learn the game. They have Rookie leagues, Class A, AA, AAA leagues (AAA being the highest). It would be nice if boxing could have some type of similar system to where people have to earn their way up the ladder instead of having the right promoter.

Correct me if I'm wrong but not only is there not that much difference between the rankings BUT wasn't the RING the only 1 which has ACTAULLY been found of fixing it's rankings(I have a relaible source-BRITKID )

I just don't see why they are so hihgly rated, just look like another ranking system to me,as confused as the others.
The Ring went through its' own scandal involving the ratings in the late 1970s. The Ring no longer has the same people running it from back then...regardless of what Britkid says (I like Britkid but his personal bias sometimes clouds the issues).

He going to get a wake up call when he fights Joshua Clottey. Clottey is fast and super strong. I look for Clottey to knockout Margarito in about the 10th, Clottey throws a mean body shot. I'm talking sledge hammer. Should be intresting..

I feel the Ring rankings are the best, they are always pretty accurate. You won't find them moving undesrving fighters into the top 10 just to get title shots like alphabet boys do. As for the rating fixing it was over 30 years ago get over it. If you want to make that relavant try to get some dirt on Nigel Collins. You can't! The guys clean, loves the sport & is only trying to make the sport we love better. The Ring charges no fees to champions. At the end of the day the Ring create the idea of ranking fighters!!!

Clottey can be passive until he has your hurt. Margarito could outhustle him

Margarito will bring the tiger out in Clottey. This is a great action fight for the fans ! both guys should be commended on taking this match- up, as the threat level to both is very high.
