I place his being the youngest to win the title and clean out the division as equal to rising from a knockdown to win.
I still maintain Tyson at 21 was good enough to beat any form of Holyfield the Douglas version or the bigger version that beat a faded Tyson.
We will have to agree to disagree on Holyfield. Evander had his number and would always get “up” for a Tyson fight. Horrible style match up for Mike.
Remember first 5 rounds Tyson against Holyfield were Mike's. Tyson was gassed out and a peak version would carry on the full 12. I distinctly remember round 5 where Tyson gave his last onslaught he hurt Evander to the body. Peak Tyson loved to brutalise the body.
Making pretzel memories over here

. Same what if about versions holds true for Holyfield no? He was labeled a walking dead man leading into fight with Mike.. truth is he was taking his shots and standing Mike still with own counters by mid point of 1st, buzzed him in 2nd. The 5th only stands out imo because it was Mikes strongest.
and for the Mike never cleanly down talk

..that left upperhook counter was flush on Tysons chin.
True I am going on rose tinted memory but Tyson was winning and could have sustained the attacks at his peak.
Also that knockdown was a punch to the chest not chin.
