Re: Does anybody beat 1965 Muhammad Ali?
Going by the Patterson fight (65 opponent)... Patterson looks terrible, he can't move his feet, doesn't know how to cut off the ring, has no jab and basically stands on the spot, bobs and weaves, then launches a telegraphed swing.
Ali has a crisp, constantly flicking point scorer jab and very good flowing foot work, terrific feints and a fast right hand, although not much pop. For some reason, even though Patterson is standing in the same place all the time, Ali totally neglects his body. In this modern day era he would have been roundly criticised for not finishing a beaten, overmatched opponent earlier. No HBO contracts after Lampey and Max have finished with him.
Patterson is the size of a post weigh-in modern light-heavy, however, Ali's dimensions all but make him a perfect fit for the modern day Cruiser division - Usyk, Gassiev, Dorticos, Briedis, etc. Great fights.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
