Lee's inactivity has to be a worry in this fight. He does have that lightning strike of a punch but I see an easy win for Jacobs.

Lee brought in as 'familiar' cannon fodder. If anything a sideways step for Jacobs but HBO will try to tie 3 yr old BJ fight in. Derevyanchenko and Charlo mandatory for Golovkin so forget Jacobs, Lemieux was just painted and embarrassed, Murata..HBO don't do YouTube!

I think fighting Andy Lee is just a fight for his profile for his promoter to drum up UK interest in him. the public here know Andy Lee and they'll play on the "ex World Champion" tag.
As a fight, I would prefer a harder challenge and the top order to fight each other , but I suppose Boxing politics is probably getting in the way of that.

It would be a decent fight but Lee has not fought since March 2017!

It’s a name but Lee doesn’t really fight anymore. He was never really a good fighter either. He had a good punch was really it. He obviously has a punchers chance but I don’t see Jacobs taking any chances. He will probably just box for 12 rounds and win an easy decision.

I do agree though that there are multiple other fights he should be looking for other than this one. Kind of disappointing.

It's okay as a one off, but Jacobs should be more active and be aiming higher.

Its a money thing. Jacobs wont fight those other guys unless he gets big money for the trouble he considers those fights. Jacobs is not a significant draw on his own. So there was spike who probably said probably felt he should be given some credit above the low ball offer because of the alphabet title. So they leveraged andy lee against him probably because as other have stated lee still has a name and was cooperative in negotiations to let quillen have a crack at the belt he threw away and lee picked up. Jacobs is following the haymon model still (promoted by hearn, still advised by haymon). Fight someone big for an even or smaller percentage (GGG/Quillen) or someone small for a huge percentage (Arias, Lee, Morax2) but never risk losing unless you're paid handsomely for it.

I dont know if this is confirmed yet but would be interested in seeing what Lee is getting paid. I wouldnt have thought he would be taking a small fee here (Id have thought hed cost more than Spike). Id love to see Lee win this but its hard to see him not getting stopped badly here.
