If you get into "can never ever be proven"(sorry for misquoting just couldn't being myself to write it the other way) then your only option is the current heavyweight champion. Because cross eras can't be proven either.c

    It's "bring" myself.

    The answer is Ali.

How badass can a person be to tell the US government you're not fighting their war...get stripped for years..then get the belt back.

It's impossible to ignore the crap he had to deal with in his personal life as well as being the top dog in the hardest sport on earth.

I'm going to say Robinson, but I wouldn't argue with anyone that said Armstrong or Ali.

Read and experienced after the fact..Robinson. Benny Leonard never gets his due in early era.

Lived live..Whitaker or Lopez if I'm honest. Certainly limits choices.

experiencing a fighter recorded and live are very different.

Pound for Pound . I think Mike Tyson takes Sugar Ray. So if we're talking about actually fighting and not statistics I think its a toss up between Ali and Tyson.

I have pep above Armstrong. Pep is unbelievable. But I wouldn’t necessarily argue either way. Again, maybe I’m bias.

How are we defining great? If it is best inside the ring, Armstrong with Robinson as a close second. If we are talking global impact and impact outside the ropes, then I go with Ali and Joe Louis and Jack Johnson as close second and third.
