@Batman I have to relate something similar. We had a three hundred pound motor that hangs about twenty feet in the air and was surrounded by conduit and a catwalk giving almost no access to it. I've changed plenty of motors but this one was a monster. It's really a four person job but it was up to me and my coworker. I tried asking my boss for a little guidance which is something I never do. He gave me a completely unrealistic way to remove and install it. Well in the end me and my coworker got it done, of course not the way my boss told us as it was impossible. Frickin boss didn't even walk out to look at the motor. Anyway, sometimes bosses are idiots and don't know what they r doing

That boss was a very uncaring person. What an absolutely unhelpful self-absorbed piece of garbage. Two workers ask for his guidance and he cannot even be bothered to walk out and look with his own eyes? That is one of the worst bosses I have ever heard of

He really is Brock, I can't relate how tough that motor was. I almost lost a finger and my coworker almost fell off the lift. It was also a nine hour job. I should have left it to blow for my boss. It was leaking oil and the gears were starting to turn into flakes, it prob had a week left

Sh-t that's no good bro. At the end of the day it's only a job. Don't ever let yourself get to that point again mate. Like Master says mention stress as much as you can and they'll be walking on egg shells to try and accommodate you, I would also suggest taking some leave, just to recharge the batteries and get your mind straight. Tell HR that the solution given to you was to work more unpaid hours. That's just crazy.

Good on you bud for catching it early..hey early 30's is early ..and addressing the issue. Believe it or not you can die on a job and not even know it. Next thing you know you turn around, you're in your 40's with daily stress with no idea of what happened to the last 10+ years. I've started telling all of the younger workers coming in to save some for yourself. Just means that no matter how deep the hole is you find yourself or overwhelmed you feel, you have to have something left to offer when you go on to bigger things, and you will. Hectic work loads need a starting and stopping point and separation or they just blur together and you spiral downward and crash. Good managers or team leaders recognize their people in trouble and solutions can be as simple as a day off but more so them acknowledging you work and insuring there is proper delegation and team effort so as not to burn out valuable employees. Nothing wrong with putting your feet up and taking the earned time off either. Time, our time, is something we will never get back after all. Good luck!
