Maybe I'm more of a traditionalist but seems you'd lose the blend of individuality in posts and mass appeal in larger fights with limit of 4 people. After that they want you to pay for it no? RBRs fly by and refreshing happens on it's own if folks just chime in. Surely seeing how ugly each other is will forever ruin the vibe . I mean what's the point of a typed forum if we're all in a group meet. Really though it's a different avenue, be interesting and maybe try it on a random board or thread to see how kinks work out?

just realized we actually had a group chat feature below posts but looks like it's no longer there? I remember on old rbrs you would have a handful of posters start a closed chat while in an active rbr. It turned into basically split groups which felt odd. Hey anything to encourage participation as rbr were the reason I started here and stayed. Now though depending on fighters if it's not a HUGE fight it can be lonely as feck .
