Will the IBF force the mandatory after this, or the WBC, or even possibly the WBA? Or will they all step aside if Canelo wants the immediate rematch upon his return.

Theirs also the unification with BJS. Starting to get a bit of a backlog.
As I was saying, the IBF have now ordered the mandatory. If GGG wants to face Canelo next he'll have to drop the belt.

Won’t the rematch clause have priority?
Also if it’s the IBF he could make a BJS fight if he wanted. Their rules state unification takes priority.

    Is Derevyanchenko the IBF mandatory?

Yea he is the mando with the IBF. I think if they order it then a unification can't stop it. Like how Tyson got stripped.

I wouldn't mind a Derevyanchenko fight. But it isn't at the top of my wish list.

Saw where they put an August deadline on his mandatory shot. Really putting GGG in a corner 90 days out with thoughts of Canelo in September.

More and more I have zero interest in Canelo v Golovkin. I can't see Canelo back in Spent off year out and surgery just hopping back in with him either. Plenty of sharks in the 160 tank and frankly a win over a Charlo or Jacobs 2 surpasses one over Canelo at this point.

Agree completely. I’ve never considered Clanelo one of the best at 160. If he beats a BJS, Charlo, Jacobs. Then his position needs to be re-evaluated. But a win over Cotto doesn’t put him at the top. As I’ve always said he hid from 154 AND 160 at Claneloweight.

GGG needs to stop playing along. Frankly he doesn't need him. Still wondering how he gets to maintain ranking after suspension. Meanwhile Cuadras is bleached from all rankings and quite possibly gets identical time.

I think I understand this all now. The rematch clause has no weight while Canelo is suspended. So it’s irrelevant.

This might be the best news in the sport. Do GGG vs Derevyanchenko, Charlo vs Jacobs, BJS vs Canelo. Everyone wins.
