I don’t think that Baranchyk is that good. He looks like a fighter who will get thoroughly outclassed once he steps up.

I really hope Lipinets gets in the tourney too. IMO he would be the favorite to win.

Just saw that they are doing three weights instead of two this time. That’s pretty awesome. Bantam is for sure, jr welter is most likely and they don’t have a third one. Supposedly they talked about HW. I really hope it isn’t because I honestly wouldn’t be interested in a HW tourney unless Wilder and AJ were in it which wouldn’t happen.

Josh Taylor best be in the lightwelters, I make him favourite over all those guys, although Prograis and Lipinets are great fights. You could throw in guys like Alex Saucedo or even Ohara Davies (although it doesn't work with him already being spanked by Taylor) and Zlaticanin.

Another great weightclass for a division without superstars.

Sauerland said Inoue is almost a done deal, McDonnell too, so they're obviously waiting for the winner of that bout, probably both.

The rest of bantamweight is a bit weak though - Solis, Haskins, they'll probably throw in a Japanese/Filipino if Inoue gets to fight out there.

    Weak?

Payano, Solis (should already have a win over McDonnell), Zhakiyanov (I heard he retired), Warren, Jason Moloney, Mikhail Aloyan would be fantastic, Oubaali/ Sanpattan winner, Gerardo Castillo, Mzuvukile Magwaca or Duke Micah for a bit more international flavor, Takuma Inoue looks good. Haskins, Aaron Alameda, Michael Dasmarinas, Tapales. There's a lot of talent there for me.

I agree Taylor needs to be in the 140 tourney.

I heard they might do Cruiser 2, I'll take some credit for that, I post a thread awhile back about that exact topic.

Weird how autospell works replacing 'Legend' with 'weak' when you were talking about Haskins @Fenster

I didn't mean "weak" overall, I meant compared to the four champs (assuming Inoue will win), there looks a gulf in class. We've already seen Burnett deal with Haskins and Zhakiyanov and I don't see Solis, McDonnell, Warren or Payano beating the four seeds.

Some of those young, unexposed guys you've mentioned would be fantastic though, I prefer that over the proven guys who I think will not get past the first round.

Oubaali-Sanpattan winner would be excellent (not seen the Thai, hopefully he's the new Wang). Not seen the South African fella who unfortunately, anyway, was shot. Inoue's brother can't be in it. I don't know much about the Aussie, but boxing is currently so weak out there I was thinking he was underdog against Kono.

For anyone who didn't see it. Inoue vs Payano: fight starts around 3 min mark.

How awesome would an Inoue vs Nery fight be? 2 of the biggest punchers in the sport currently.

Inoue is arguably the sports hardest puncher P4P.

And some think the little guys can't punch 🤦

That power is so sharp, clean and frightening. To score these type of knockouts against top level opponents time and time again is truly remarkable.

I can not think of anyone who hits p4p harder now.
