Brilliant fight from Trinidad, Joppy took a brutal beating and credit him for trying.
Tito did a GGG and took punches to land his own bombs.
After that fight I was sure he was going to wipe out B Hop.

Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Me too, @Master
Trinidad was moving up from 154 and I was a bit apprehensive. But the way he handled Joppy, a previous MW champion in his own right, I thought he would take BHop easily. The muscled Joppy probably saw the slight build on Trinidad and underestimated his power.

5/18/96: Wilfredo Vazquez KO's Eloy Rojas to win WBA world featherweight title
This day in 1922 Harry Grab would hand Tunney his one and only professional defeat in superbly brutal fashion. Midway Tunney was leaking from busted nose, torn lip and badly gashed eye. Somewhere along the 10th the Commissioner was hear to say that it's a bad match and should have never been made. Tunney was lt heavyweight champ. They would meet 4 more times with Tunney officially winning next ( highly disputed), Tunney decision, a draw and the last meeting Tunney returned the beating in 1925.

I'll be honest I never knew that much about Rojas, and Venezuela isn't exactly a world hotbed of boxing champions, is it.I do know, however, that it was a pretty good fight, and Vazquez was a great champion. Unfortunately he ran into Naseem later on, but so did a lot of other good featherweights.
