Calzaghe: Give me Hopkins next

Joe Calzaghe says he'd willingly go to America to fight ring great Bernard Hopkins.

The "Executioner" is currently in retirement at the age of 41 after a sensational career, but has dropped hints that he might return.

The Phildadelphia stylist has said he'd consider coming back for a crack at the world heavyweight title.

But Calzaghe would love to see him come back at a lower weight for a superfight that could cement the Welshman's legacy.

Speaking on new ITV documentary No Average Joe (Thursday October 12 at 2200 BST) he said: "Ideally I would love to fight Bernard Hopkins - he's a true champion. If that was to happen, I would go to America."

"Of course I'd love to fight in America, but if it's right. If it's right for me and I get the right opponent."

Very interesting fight BUT Joe C. so called reign will be over the day he steps in that ring with B-Hop.

joe c puts b-hop (a true legend) into certain retirement with a lopsided loss if this fight were to ever come off at this stage in bernards career.

too much ability, too much activity on joes part to lose this one.......imho

Because B-hop is not in the actual screen fighting doesn't mean hes not active, as you very well may know B-Hop is a gym rat, hes there day & night sun, rain or shine.
The only thing that just popped in my head is that whole GBP 'East' thing that hes got going...... that might have kept him awat from the gym a bit. But even then B-hops style of fighting is just always in tact hes ready to adapt to ANYBODYS style, Joe would be no different from the rest.

joe c has got RIDICULOUS skills (even above hopkins, imo) and the size, strength, and the speed, to boot. Joe Calzaghe is a bad ass boy, and hes going to be the true legend killer if he ever gets a chance to prove it..............but nobodys gonna give him the chance.....its bad for the sport, imo cuz joe c.'s got crazy skills that may be "all time" status :P

I agree Joes showed tremendous skills as far as ring smarts & speed but B-Hop does have ring tactics far superior then Joes, B-Hop regardless of of what happend in the Jermain fights he really hasnt been beaten in yrs. in the sense of a beating if you know what I mean.
