"Old School" in regards to how a boxer trains is one place my mind goes, not using a lot of fancy equipment or having 50 coaches for 50 different things, but doing mainly body weight exercises, roadwork, and sparring.

"Old School" in regards to style....like @Master says Toney and Hopkins had older styles to them and fought often. I think Arturo Gatti would also fit in because he would have a gameplan and if the gameplan went south he'd just plow face first into whatever someone had for him and brawl.....you don't see that too much anymore but it's brilliant to watch as a fan.

Forgot about training methods but yes chopping wood with an axe would be old school.

I wonder if this question will get asked again in 10 years and the consensus will be that old school, is someone that doesn't have much of a social media profile

You didn't walk to a ring led by shitty rappers. You wore actual shorts and maybe high socks and they played Gillette razor commercials. Your version of YouTube or a stream was trading VHS tapes by the half dozen and guaranteed to be a minimum weeks old. Old school is seeing a guy with double digit losses introduced and still knowing it's a fight. When the talk of craft and record outshine the talk of purse bids and attendance stats.
