Ito took that round. He looks the fresher fighter.

Ito all the way. They better not take it from him. He earned it

Good. Happy for Ito. He earned it. He's been a very good, underrated fighter. I give Diaz credit for getting up and fighting back the whole fight. But I was disappointed in his performance. He's better than Verdejo. But not by much.

I was watching on delay, as I had to record it when I got interrupted. Saw the whole fight and obviously I'm disappointed. But what a HELL of a fight!!! My hat's off to Ito..... I underestimated him. He's a hell of a fighter. Still..... I'm PROUD of my guy. He went down swinging and never stopped trying. I think maybe the difference in reach made a big difference. Ito fought a lot better than Diaz on the inside as well. They're both super tough. Diaz nailed him many times flush, but Ito can sure take a punch.

All credit to Ito, the new champion.

I think we all underestimated Ito, except Fenster. Great pick by him.

Diaz has a bit to work on but both guys increased their status with this fight.

Yeah, being objective about it, he needs to work on his defense. He's got a ton of heart, though. It happens sometimes. You run into someone who's running under the radar, and you get surprised.
I wouldn't count Diaz out of any future fights, though.

Ito really should of been undefeated going in. His one loss is very debatable. I considered the fight to be 50-50 going in. With me leaning towards Diaz if I really had to make a choice. But I'm glad Ito came to the US to pick up his first championship

Japanese fighters are always underrated yet their domestic scene is so strong, anyone who wins at title level out there must be handy, that's my rule of thumb.

And it's fairest place in the world for travelling fighters yet most fans/fighters/pundits arrogantly assume their winners are all protected homers.
