The jab he got hit with a few seconds earlier was a better shot. If anybody doesn't believe that this stuff goes on, they're Naïve at best.

Agreed it happens a lot even with cleaner punches that that.

That clearly is a mini me of Kostya.

What are people talking about “not get paid”, he did what he was paid to do. It might be shameful but we should look at who paid him to be shameful. People constantly put their outrage in the wrong place.

Could be right there actually, none of know under what circumstances was the guy told to throw the fight.
He could have been threatened with his or his families life with a gun to his head for all we know.
If your gonna take a dive at least give us a few rounds and try and make it convincing rather than what this guy did.

He should have done a better job at taking a dive

In 98 percent of the fights made in boxing today, everybody knows who is supposed to win as soon as the match is made. You pick opponents that your fighter will not only defeat, but look good in doing so. That guy, while certainly not there to win, did not do what he was supposed to do. In fact he did the opposite because his actions made the showcase fighter look bad.

The chance that he did that because somebody threatened him in some way is slim to none. Why? The boxing world is full of guys that pad their records at home so it looks good because that enables them to get paid more when they travel to lose to a prospect.

The fans today haven't got a clue what matchmaking is, everything is instant gratification. They have no clue that fighter was getting peanuts so took the least amount of punishment and no clue he also cost himself future work. They see a ring they think a million.

Future in the NBA for that one. Another reason to take run up ko numbers with a grain of salt though it was inevitable. Can't help but see that the WBC stamped it with approval with some regional bs belt.

We're fans. People who pay money to go see a fight that has been advertised and promoted to a certain extent. The ones in the ring are the ones performing up to (or down to) their supposedly best ability. So if Fighter X goes down from a swing and a miss, we have a perfect right to be upset. Sometimes I think some of us tend to over-analyze things.

Again... we're so hard on ourselves. Yes, some fans might be like that, but many other fans pay good money expecting to see a competitive match, or at least an honest effort from both fighters. It's neither naive or unrealistic to expect a good effort from two professional athletes. If a basketball team turned its back on the other team while they dunked and scored at will..... I'm pretty sure there would be hell to pay.

He may have been a MASSIVE underdog and maybe he would have upset the promoters had he won, but you HAVE to try...
