Colin Kaepernick and the absurdity of the NFL

I don't know anything at all about American football. I'm aware of this guy and all the controversy about the national anthem (and wonder why a President is getting involved personally in this). However, I dint really have a well reasoned or knowledgeable viewpoint.

I do have a question, though .... is the guy very good at American football?

Because being POTUS isn't demanding enough and allows a lot of leisure time to get involved in stuff like this.


But the serious answer is that it's a cheap and easy way to shore up popularity by appealing to the raw emotion of his base plus the patriots in the country who take kneeling during the anthem as a personal affront, no matter what the issue.
