I can just imagine the comments if that fight was in England and if it was Spike who landed that punch 'typical English stoppage, never gave him a chance, only stopped it so the home fighter would win, English refs are shit, fuck English refs etc etc'

I know what you mean but the ref stared right into his eyes and must've seen something. O'Sullivan didn't complain so that's always a telling sign.

I thought the stoppage was a bit premature until spike got up and didn’t complain. I could tell he wasn’t all there. It just seemed like the ref wouldn’t have been able to tell from the angle he was at. I could be wrong though.
