Re: GGG should retire
I agree with your thread title Brock. Not much else mind but the thread title is good enough. If he's going to take another fight just take the 3rd with Ginger Bollocks and then be done with it. Physically they are pretty much on par these days so it's highly unlikely GGG can win. Just take the dough and run.
He can compete clearly. He threw more leather than Canelo and whichever way you went it was very close. But no one wants to see GGG compete, we want to see him pulverise people and if he cant do that, if he's lost that edge then he should retire. It's been said before and Miles has mentioned it here. GGG is almost penalised in my opinion for not battering people. If he outpoints someone, like he did IMO Canelo X2 and like he did Jacobs, it's almost seen as a knock on him. Which isn't right. BY not getting flattened his opponents, again IMO are getting extra credit.
Brock I disagree about Hagler. It's been wheeled out a thousand times and every time I disagree. I know it's the party line to say the bloke from yesteryear flattens the guy of today, but I seldom believe it. It's lazy and it's said with little thought generally. Hagler GGG both at their best is a war of epic proportions, but for me, to say either one is the clear winner is mental.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough
