This has got war written all over it, Ortiz has called Whyte out and Whyte obviously wants it 👌🏼

Great fight, hope it happens. Good on Whyte if he takes on a guy who could easily be ignored until he’s just too old to compete. Hard to know what Ortiz will have left, pick em for me.
I'm the same.
This is 50-50 right down the middle and a more brutal tear up you could not wish for.
Gun to my head is favour Dillian purely as he's got youth on his side and is on a great run at the moment.
Being the first man to put Parker on his ass must have given him a shitload of self belief and I think he'll be working on his fitness and stamina even more after Parker nearly turning him over at the last hurdle.
This is a proper old school shoot out.
I do have a gut feeling that the Chisora rematch might still happen instead just because it makes way more money.
Hope I'm wrong as I love this fight 😎
He’s probably just giving Chisora a wake up call by responding to Ortiz, but nonetheless I’ve gotta give him credit.
He could easily take a stay busy in December, virtually knowing he’s got a rematch with Joshua in April. So to take on either Chisora , who he had trouble with, or someone of Ortiz’s quality regardless of his age, is a pretty ballsy move.
I’m not that big on Whyte as a Boxer, and he can talk like a prick at times, but I massively respect his attitude.
Former Undisputed 4 belt Prediction champion. Still P4P and People’s Champion.
So what happens if Ortiz up and upsets Whyte.... does he step in as WBO mandatory for AJ? Or does AJ skip Ortiz and move directly to Pulev/Fury?
I hope it happens.
Lots of heavyweights including Whyte have avoided Ortiz over the years.
But Luis is older now, and somewhat faded, so it's possible Whyte might man up and go through with it.
Doubt it
Very good matchup! Should be an exciting fight. I think Whyte is the hungrier fighter and should be more up for it. Ortiz has hit his limit and he's just going to be a fringe contender/acid test from now on.
I'll take Whyte TKO 8
Good fight. Whyte could even out jab the jabber. I like him by knockout.
Let's not forget that the "Old & faded" Ortiz had Wilder in massive trouble and was then stitched up by that mysterious extra 30 seconds recovery time Deontay was given
I think he would have finished Wilder off he wasn't given that full 90 seconds to clear his head.
Agreed. He also was up in the fight right until he ran out of gas for me. Lots of lesser fighters have caused Wilder problems and made him look bad, but I don’t remember anyone else flat out handling him. Its funny because if we based this on the way each guy looked against David Allen two years ago(they fought him Back to back) you’d expect it to be dreadful
It's a good heavyweight fight, if they can get it done.
I'd pick Ortiz to take out Whyte.
It would be a ballsy move by Whyte to take this sort of risk, when the AJ rematch is within reach.
They live, We sleep
This fights hurts me.
My two fav HWs of now.
Wont be betting on this one. I wont be hoping for a winner either.
I was hoping they would find a separate way of challenging for a belt.
Fucking that!!
This is what every division should be like...top fighters taking risks and fighting the other top fighters.
Kudos to Dillian Whyte too, the public love him for the reasons above.
Chisora too... both throwback fighters.
I agree it's a good fight and am looking forward to it.
But it smacks as a bit hypocritical to be lauding Whyte for taking on Ortiz ahead of a possible rematch with Joshua, while Wilder was raked over the coals for fighting the same guy (who I might add was a bit "less old" at the time).
