Lots of heavyweights including Whyte have avoided Ortiz over the years.

But Luis is older now, and somewhat faded, so it's possible Whyte might man up and go through with it.
Biggest myth in Boxing that Ortiz is this fearsome and avoided fighter. He was given 2 opportunities by Eddie Hearn to impress on Matchroom shows and build a profile for himself, but he stank the place out....twice. And then he got himself banned.

He was then given the opportunity to fight Joshua, but opted to fight Wilder instead....for less money and less belts.

As for Whyte, it would be a bad decision to fight him. Even if he beat him, he's still 2 years away from a shot at Wilder. He is highly ranked with the WBO and the WBA and is in position to earn a small fortune in a Joshua rematch. Don't know why he would want to risk a substantial future reward just to please a small number of hardcore boxing fans.

I totally agree the only reason he's any kind of a spoiler is because he is a southpaw and very tricky
