It ain't my bag either to hunt for nothing.....I want clean, healthy food to put on the table, and I want the populations of the animals I hunt to remain at healthy levels and healthy sizes.
That said, I'm not going to pretend hunting isn't fun. It's work and it's difficult depending on what you're hunting and where but it's a good feeling. Humans have that urge to hunt in them innately, we've had it for far longer than we haven't, but hunting scratches an itch that many probably don't even know they have. I've dealt with anxiety before, too much nervous energy, bouts of depression here and there, but getting away from all the technology (lol, suuuuure guy with all these posts) but YES getting away from all that and getting into nature gave me the opposite feel, and hunting even more so and it's not about killing out of malice or hate or frustration or anger, it's about the focus, about the feeling you've provided food for your family, and at the end of the day you're thankful for that deer or turkey or dove or whatever, you're full of appreciation for what life is and what nature is and you want MORE nature....not just to hunt, but to observe, to live in, to take a breath, to hike through it's wonderful.
But hell that's just me and what I get from it.
