Hearn wants to negotiate terms for an AJ-Wilder fight before December 1st? GTFOOH. I think the dude's feeling a little butthurt that AJ's out of the heavyweight limelight if only temporarily, as the Wilder-Fury fight looms. He's also nuts if he thinks Wilder's team is going to distract themselves from the task at hand. And if..... Wilder were to wipe the floor with Fury..... Hearn's claim that the terms depend on how good the fight did are bullsh*t. If Wilder wipes out Fury, the subsequent Wilder-AJ fight will need no promotion. It'll sell itself and if Hearn decides to play footsies with Wilder, it'll be looked at as an excuse not to face Wilder. Not that anybody would blame him.

I heard Fury's VADA testing has been negative which is great news.

It's being reported they've sold just 7000 tickets.

7000!!! These clowns have zero fans outside the boxing world. For perspective, Whyte-Chisora sold double in one day!!!

Hope not but... an "injury" pull out is coming.

Fury is in a difficult situation.

He probably can't win on the scorecards in Wilder's home country, and he's not a big puncher. And there will likely be a dodgy California referee like Jack Reiss helping Wilder.

If Fury can get a decision in Germany, he can get one anywhere.

There was never any controversial judging for Klitschko's fights. Can you remember any?

However, the US has become by far the #1 country for robberies and shady refereeing in recent years, with the UK solidly in the #2 spot.

    Golub vs Clark
    Kovalev vs Ward
    GGG vs Canelo
    Browne vs Kaladjdzic
    Herrera vs Danny Garcia
Loma vs Salido (obviously dodgy referee, questionable scorecards)
    Hooker vs Perez

    And a few years back:

    Pacquiao-Bradley I
    Holyfield-Lewis I
    Tiberi-Toney
Kessler-Ward (ref let Ward use illegal tactics such as headbutts to blind Kessler)
    Castillo-Mayweather I
    Sturm-De La Hoya

    and many, many more.

And American judges DO favor Wilder.

Luis Ortiz clearly won several rounds he wasn't given credit for, as did Artur Szpilka.

Proportionally Germany are worse, Ottke, Sturm and Povetkin come to mind.

Add two fighters who arent widely known outside boxing circles to some terrible marketing a 3 city promo tour that happened way too early and the fact it's in L.A. when Wilder was maybe just starting to call NYC home and build up a fan base and it's no surprise.
Strange choice having this in LA.
The staples centre holds just over 20,000 so it's gonna be an embarrassment if the place doesn't even sell out.
This is a little over 3 weeks away too.

Totally agree on LA being a terrible choice. Other than the LA Dodgers and the LA Lakers, LA fans aren't exactly known for being too feverish about anything. Vegas and NYC were the only logical choices for this fight. Also agree that the promotional effort has been terrible and ill-timed. And yes, it WILL be embarrassing to see a less-than-sold-out Staples Center on fight night if it happens that way.

I feel sorry for the fighters themselves, both of whom deserve better. Fury for having the balls (so far) to face Wilder... and Wilder for accepting the challenge. Slightly pissed that Hearn gets to gloat over there, and will surely come back with an even more ridiculous offer to Wilder, should Wilder dispose of Fury and aim toward AJ. For every empty seat in Staples, Hearn will probably knock off 5% of the purse.

The promotion has been excellent - three city tour, major US sports talk radio/podcasts/shows, constant social media in their training camps.

It's not in Vegas because they wasn't wanted, not big enough, proved by the pathetic ticket sales, why would they possibly choose anywhere in America other than Vegas if they really thought it was a BIG money fight?

And these clowns, their fans, Frank Warren and team Wilder were slating Joshua for selling only, only, only 75,000 tickets against Povetkin!

Why have the purses never been revealed? How much is Wilder getting? Is it anywhere close to that Joshua money he turned down?

They used Joshua's name to sell this fight but it's backfired.

You say the promotion's been great. Ykadaka... says it's been terrible. If you go solely by results, the promotion has sucked. Maybe the effort has been put in, but it hasn't worked. Second-guessing's the name of the game, I guess.

Blame it on jaded fans... blame it on location... blame it on whatever except the fighters themselves. They're the ones putting themselves out there and willing to fight.

Hearn must be laughing all the way to the bank, no doubt working on a lower offer than he offered the first time, as we speak.

Still... let's say Wilder beats Fury... and Hearn comes back with a pathetic offer based on Wilder-Fury's numbers in LA. That wouldn't look too good for Hearn, IMO.

I don't agree or disagree with you, but it's amazing how different people's thoughts are on this. a couple of weeks ago ykadamaja (??) started a thread saying how Brilliantly the fight had been marketed, "Like a real big fight!"
if I've said it once , I've said it a million times, I'll believe this fight is on when the bell rings for round 1.

Weren't they reporting a million dollars in sales in the first 25 minutes? If it's true then it seems that no one has bought a ticket since then.
