Watching wonder woman now which is also about world war 1.
Blackadder 4 was also very poignant comedy about the great war.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
The Great War is an event that always piques my interest...the old ways of war fought with new weapons, a 'no holds barred' contest if you will, poison gas, flamethrowers, zeppelins, airwar, submarines, dreadnought battleships, trench warfare in the west, but free flowing battle in the eastern front, almost the entire world at war with over 30 nations becoming involved in it, and the massive amounts of casualties. It is quite impressive to study and MANY a great leader was involved in it, born from it, and many a foul leader as well.
It is a shame that the royalty of Europe decided the world needed or deserved this. It is a shame that America ever got involved in it and the REAL shame is the treaty of Versailles which was not fair in the least and set the stage for the rise of Nazism, Fascism, Communism, Socialism, and World War II.
Ironic that after treaties and peace pacts and allied powers thrust the entire world into chaos that certain current world leaders are calling for even more.....a European Army?
"The Führer gave expression to his unshakable conviction that the Reich will be the master of all Europe. We shall yet have to engage in many fights, but these will undoubtedly lead to most wonderful victories. From there on the way to world domination is practically certain. Whoever dominates Europe will thereby assume the leadership of the world."
— Joseph Goebbels, Reich Minister of Propaganda and close associate of Hitler, 8 May 1943
But I suppose world leaders would never steer us normal everyday citizens wrong......you know, AGAIN![]()
