How long before the fight does he eat? What does he eat?
Doing material art for 4 years. full contact for 2 years. eat clean before a fight (chicken pasta and water) no issues in training sparring running he fine. No nerves before fight. last 2 fight he won comfortably. Just keeps feeling sink into the second round and it stopping him from going up a gear
Is his mouthpiece/gumshield too big? If so that can be cut down a little perhaps.
Is he breathing properly during the fight? Sometimes in the heat of the moment you can start holding your breath or not be properly breathing out your punches and that can mess you up.
I bring those up as a guy who threw up every single football practice I had and who certainly had that issue when training and sparring....hell playing hockey to this day I still try not to puke when I'm pushing myself hard. I eventually learned where my "redline" was and I tried to just work within myself, do things more methodically, focus on attention to detail, and when I really need to dig down deep I know how much juice I have in the tank before the engine taps out...and having good stamina, recovering properly in the corner between rounds, that's perhaps something to look at, maybe don't drink so much water, maybe stay standing in the corner, I'm certain others have had the issue and dealt with it alright.
best of luck to the kidit's no fun dry heaving on a mouthpiece that's for certain

Reading all the above advice..which is good. If he does not fall into any of those areas, my guess is that he has a real case of 'stage fright'. At 13, he is really at an akward age and he needs some confidence building. When he is sparring, gather a small group to yell and try to distract him during training. Basic cure is to have someone speak before an audience. Years ago I head of a student that was up and coming with a lot of promise, and at his first Amateur match, shook so badly that his teeth chattered and they had to scratch him from fight. Never knew how he came out. If he can spar before a small crowd, that may solve it. If indeed it is acute stage fright.
