I love Audrey, but she couldn't really sing. Judy did it better IMO. Morrissey the best though of course, but he is not a woman. Yet.
Love this one played loud in a car.
I know the thread is about female vocalists, but for me it is more about the song itself and thus it doesn't matter if there are technical flaws. The flaws only add to character for me. You can have a perfect voice, but if the music has no heart, then I think it is a useless tool. Plus some of the technically impressive female voices just sound a bit annoying to me. I prefer Debbie Harry over Celine Dion every day of the week because I think the songwriting is more interesting.
I love Beverley Knight, and I love this song
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough
Charley Burley
Have I ever mentioned that Beverley Knight, really Smith, went to my school (2 years younger) and was my sisters best friend?
They made her sing all the time at our school.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
