I know the thread is about female vocalists, but for me it is more about the song itself and thus it doesn't matter if there are technical flaws. The flaws only add to character for me. You can have a perfect voice, but if the music has no heart, then I think it is a useless tool. Plus some of the technically impressive female voices just sound a bit annoying to me. I prefer Debbie Harry over Celine Dion every day of the week because I think the songwriting is more interesting.

Have I ever mentioned that Beverley Knight, really Smith, went to my school (2 years younger) and was my sisters best friend?
They made her sing all the time at our school.
