I think the REAL problem isnt that the UFCs best are any worse than Prides best, but the fact that outside of the WW division, the UFC has about 2-3 contenders, and then a bunch of cans. After Sylvia fights Monson, who will be left to fight in all honesty? Same goes for Chuck...they're having to bring up people from long ago to fight him, and then people to fight him in rematches or rubbermatches or re re rubbermatches. Franklin had no serious contenders for his belt after beating Tanner a few times, until the UFC signed some new fighter, who proceeded to whup him.

Sherk has a couple legit contenders, but we'll have to see how that plays out over the next year, with the division being so recently reborn. Only Hughes has a legion of legitimate contenders waiting to take his title, and 4 or 5 with a pretty serious chance of doing so, plus a few more who may be worthy of a shot some day, but most likely won't win.
