Favorite Christmas Songs

I can't really get on board with this because I don't really celebrate Christmas, it's just another day to me, yeah I have a big dinner with me mom n dad then I go home.

I can honestly say that I haven't heard a single Christmas song yet, at work they were talking about the John Lewis advert with Elton John just the other day, I haven't actually seen it yet.

You have you usual xmas songs like Slades Merry Xmas Everyone or The Pogues Fairytale in New York etc which are all good, you even have that Mariah Carey one that kind of epitomizes a cheesy Christmas, I don'tdislike them I am just numb to them.

On Xmas morning whilst I am waiting for the dinner to be cooked I will most likely put this one



for me this one single song is Christmas, yeah it ain't a Christmas song but it is the only one that makes me sit back and appreciate winter, Christmas, family, food, presents and everything else, so whilst it isn't one of the popular ones, from a personal point of view this is the one.

I grew up with this album playing constantly in the house around Christmas time, the chieftains were a phenomenal band.

A few I always play loud are O Tannenbaum, The little drummer boy and Bing Crosbys Mele Kalikimaka. The entire Vince Guaraldi and Charlie Brown Christmas really holds a special place. Brings the mornings of my sisters and myself running around Christmas mornings trying to pry mom and Pop awake BEFORE their coffee. There simply is no BEFORE coffee that early in the morning. Man. I really miss those times. Not a care in the world . But we remember and lucky to hold onto that, day by day ya know.

Oh and Emmett Otters Jugband Christmas. One of THE most overlooked Christmas movies eeeeeeever!
