Love the Neil Gaiman book on which it is based, the film was a pretty faithful adaptation. The kids loved Coraline (another Gaiman tale and apparently 'American Gods' which is an epic novel is a great TV adaptation. Would imagine @Batman being what Bill Hicks used to refer to in one of his routines as a 'bit of a reader' would have read some Gaiman.Have you read the 'Sandman' graphic novels /comics Master?
Had to look up Sandman graphic novel, they are DC and I am strictly Marvel but characters sound fascinating.

The Bleeder - The Chuck Wepner movie with the Ali build up and the Rocky thing too. I enjoyed it, I/We are I guess predisposed to like boxing movies. I like Liev Schreiber anyway, he plays a hard bastard pretty good. His Wife and then new Mrs were also excellent but for me, and I dont know if it was intentional, but the guy playing Stallone just stole the show. I love the the little snippets from Rocky when they're shooting, Stallone's enthusiasm is infectious and the guy playing him captured it brilliantly.
I had no idea he was supposed to be in Rocky II. The Wepner film gives a nod to the fact that when he auditioned or read for the role, he was off his tits on anything he could lay his hands on at the time, but then kinda glosses over it by suggesting it was some sort of technical acting snag that put the breaks on. I reckon the truth is probably far more entertaining.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough
Charley Burley
Watched Bird Box yesterday but fell asleep near the end.
The missus said it was 7/10 good but didn't rate the ending.
And its a huge yes from me that Sandra Bullock is infact Michael Jackson.
Definitely had her nose done and her skin doesn't actually look real.
I didn't think it was all that really, the nutjob who had all the zombie drawings suggested to me that it's gonna have a sequel.
After 8/10
This one is a nicely-written, original sci-fi thriller. It's well-made with good technical direction and competent acting despite the small budget.
Eden Lake (2008 ) 4/10
The acting is very good, otherwise nothing positive about it. Anyone would need to be a sadistic psychopath to enjoy this movie. The story gradually deteriorates into torture porn, the second half is difficult to watch. Yet the critics liked it - it makes me wonder what kind of people become movie critics.
The Evil Dead (1981) 3/10
This one is sickeningly bad. A later movie in the franchise, Army of Darkness 7/10, was much better with it's humour. But this first one was just pure horror and not at all enjoyable.
The Theory of Everything (2014) 8/10
I've never seen better acting than Eddie Redmayne's in this movie, and Felicity Jones was exemplary too. The story has some flaws, it is not as historically accurate as it could have been, especially the second half. But that being said, the movie is very enjoyable with the great acting, excellent cinematography and beautiful score.
Don't bully fat kids - they've got enough on their plate
I watched Trainspotting 2 and found it to be a strangely affecting film. They even humanise Begbie a little by the end, though of course he will always be psychotic. Renton has stayed clean but has his health realization. Spud has had 2 decades of messing up. And Sick Boy has become increasingly hostile and bitter and quite dark with his activities. Renton goes back home after 20 years and it continues from there.
You sense a growth in all of the characters by the end and even Begbie will go back to prison and ponder it all in a way he had not before. I thought it was a very good film.
Watched Deadpool 2 and thought it would not be as good as the first because they have made it a 15, but it was equally as funny.
Really enjoyed it.

The Entitled (2011) 7.8/10
This is an above-average crime thriller. It's a unique story, not as predictable as most.
The Blob (1988 ) 6.8/10
This is one of the few examples of a remake being a bit better than the original, mainly due to the fine performance by Shawnee Smith.

I am re-watching the Harry Potter movies which are on TV now and they are starting to make sense. After the first one they were nonsense.
Now it is magical nonsense with a decent storyline.
