Interesting when you look at what the CEO Liz Warner said a year ago after Lammy

"hit out at the 30-year-old charity for portraying Africa as a continent of poverty-stricken victims and stereotypes who don’t speak for themselves. The organisations had “tattooed images of poverty in Africa” on to people’s minds, he said."

However, she said some of Lammy’s criticism of Comic Relief was outdated. “His argument was probably more germane six to 12 months ago. Let’s see what he feels in a year’s time.

Ha!

and again you have been less than honest in the way you just made up what Lammy actually said

"However, I never realised it was a bad thing the African kids were benefiting from the money. Apparently it's worst to portray Africa needing help from western nations than send billions in aid."

He didn't say any of that.. Dooley made it about race in her reply, she handled it terribly having the cheek to again make it about HER feelings etc. She has done some sterling work. Her program about the brave women kicking ISIS arse the other night was brilliant but the instagram shite was beyond cringeworthy. Comic Relief is big business and there is no way they can justify sending celebs over on jets to cover what local journalists could cover themselves. It is bullshit and it started with Geldolf and Bono (who are both absolute cunts to work for, just talk to people who just refuse to crew for them) and their patronizing bollocks. Investments in arms etc and telethons with pricks like Wogan imploring people to stick their hands in their pockets while getting paid a fortune to do so.

The British people are incredibly generous and it is so hypocritical for celebs to be pleading for this money, that you know many of the poorest will give, when we already give so much to badly run foreign aid development companies that are corrupt to the core. It's not charity, it's a way for the champagne socialists to make themselves feel better like you say.

It's weird where now white people think they are somehow a victim when a black person points out that stereotypes do indeed exist, and that perpetuating those stereotypes make black people get treated differently. And then the broflakes pull out the very PC card they supposedly detest
Come on Beanz, I never even mentioned Lammy (who here would know him?) and provided "for and against" articles featuring what he said.

My comments were based off the subsequent debate his quote sparked. Many British people seem to believe the African kids don't even need help, it's a big western con to promote racism here. Some people blamed racism in schools directly linked to comic relief and white people who donate. Being a naive bloke I found this a little surprising, seems like a kick in the teeth to, as you said, incredibly generous people. But what do I know.....

However, what do you mean he never made it about race? He specifically said "white saviour" not "celeb saviour?"
