Did Sweeney actually say that he went for a drink with a working class guy that was in the Newsnight green room 'much as you would a cannibal from the amazon?'.

I've seen the video in the other thread but I really don't know what to believe. If he really said that in that context, and the other things too, and its not some trick of editing, then I'd quite enjoy smashing his face in myself.

What have the BBC said? I can't find anything on it. Is he being investigated?

I'm not being facetious by the way. This thread and the other one, are the first, and only, places I've heard anything about this.

I voted no and I believe it will be investigated.

Literally all I can find is -

The BBC strongly rejects any suggestion that our journalism is ‘faked’ or biased. Any programme we broadcast will adhere to the BBC’s strict editorial guidelines. ‘Some of the footage which has been released was recorded without our knowledge during this investigation and John Sweeney made some offensive and inappropriate remarks, for which he apologises. ‘BBC Panorama’s investigation will continue.

That can't be it? He 'made some offensive and inappropriate remarks, for which he apologises'.
So they aren't even saying he was stitched up? They accept he said those things but dismiss it with the briefest of mentions?

Am I seriously missing something here?

You have missed nothing, Ryan. The mainstream media and the BBC are so full of hatred for Robinson that they will sweep it under the carpet. They have probably lost a lot of revenue though.

Lol at Beanz coming to the rescue and also ignoring all the errors Sweeney made because he too has launched nothing but invective at Robinson. Never once giving credit. The BBC is biased and this is another example of it.

Anyone else would be sacked for colluding with hate groups, abusing groups of people and swilling with the expenses card. Guess it is normal for them.

Also Beanz you as usual attack the poster rather than the issues. Did I too not complain about anti Labour bias? My issue is with the BBC and their agenda making. They should not be taking public money and criminalising people considering their agenda based discourse and incredible lack of respect for the money people have given them.

So what? Have you never broken the law? You have owned up to brawling and drugging. It's a weak stick to point just because you have never been caught. Robinson has been candid about his arrests and a lot of it was obviously political. That doesn't explain why Sweeney feels the need to do things in the way he does. If he has done this this time then how many others? When a plagiarist is detected, you start to question the entire body of work.
