Hendry and Davis had the best winning mentalities we’ve ever seen and Hendry was phenomenal for ten years and he rarely missed with his attacking style. And at the moment has more ranking title wins.

But Hendry couldn’t sustain it - there was only a ten year period between his first and last triple crown tournament wins. He got out of the game when he could no longer win.

Ronnie is still at the top after winning his first triple crown 26 years ago and shows no signs of letting up. He’s even getting better when none of us thought it was possible in his 40s. He has 230 more career centuries, more 147s and a 66 % winning record against Hendry. He has won more triple crowns and is only behind on world titles- I can’t see him beating that one has he doesn’t cope well with the 17 day long drawn out format but it’s still possible.

So although your point may be valid Master it’s valid only for a that period in the 90s and it’s clear you know as much about snooker as you do about boxing.

If they were to play at their peak the how would you separate them ? It would be a question of who did the best break off as both would clear up when left an opportunity.

Nah. Even Hendry, Davis and Parrott all say O’Sullivan is the greatest ever.

When I was younger I was pretty decent at snooker, used to fucking love Ronnie back then, I missed a couple of tournaments and just never managed to get back into the sport, I'll watch it every now and again but it can only hold my interest if Ronnie is playing.

I remember staying up proper late watching him and Hunter in a final, fucking brilliant match it was, can't remember who won it now but I'm guessing it was Ronnie

I did the same with Jimmy White, hoping he would win the tournament but never did because Hendry kept on beating him in the final

I always argued Hendry was better in his pomp but not any more, in the last few years Ronnie has gone to a new level against the best crop of players ever.

Old greats like Steve Davis admit, at his best - in the 80s - he would've been lucky to be top 16, such is the standard these days
