He stayed well away from the bad boys of the time. The big gangs of the time like the Errol Flynns and the 7 Mile Boys (who I was affiliated with) ruled the streets, and Tommy had nothing to do with any of them. He was a quiet guy outside the ring and not a gang banger.

The Flynns were into the H trade and were being usurped by 7 Mile, who ran the crack game. Big war resulted in the demise of the Flynns. Lots of deaths.

I never heard of any Lloyd Wells guy, but Hearns kept well away from that stuff. He would not have gone on to be a successful athlete if he was even periphally involved.
Hear HOF trainer and coach Leon Muhammad say the pimp guy Wells about Hearns. But I also remember them referencing some unsavory characters including Wells in and around Hearns from Detroit dope dealer Johnny Curry and through his recounts of events that supposedly made up the White Boy Rick movie/documentary.

Curry spoke about being friends with Hearns to a small degree and Curry taking White Boy Rick Wershe to see the Hearns/Hagler fight. Curry also referenced Wells once or twice.
