Here’s my problem with this fight. Mikey was one of the best boxers in the world. He still had some good years left to his career. This kind of fight where you take so much punishment effects the rest of your career. Also, once you bulk up, you can’t successfully go back down in weight. I honestly think this is the end of the Mikey Garcia we once knew and it’s unfortunate.

I really hope I’m wrong though and that he can still have a successful career.

Both Errol and Mikey are very likable guys. Good point made about what this could take out of Mikey going forward. It was too big of a reach, and I'm surprised so many here were starting to favor Mikey as we got close to fight night.

Spence was faster, stronger, and outboxed Mikey by a mile. Glad all judges scored a shutout, cause that's exactly what it was... a shutout.

I think Spence-Pac would be more competitive. Pac is a southpaw like Spence... he's still a lot faster than Mikey... and Pac had success at welter. Yes... he's a freak of nature.

I disagree. Pac could not fight at LW now, but has held his own at WW for years. If they were to fight next Pac would put him down 3 times and win 10 rounds. Few can deal with the speed. Pac is old but still puts down most of his opponents and with experience knows when to turn it up and when to take a breather. He's still awesome. Garcia is totally unproven at WW really and it showed badly.

I think Spence is a much harder fight, but Spence is relatively untested for a buzzsaw like Manny too and he will eat horrible shots from unholy angles. Manny will have him wobbly. It's a classic old tiger against a young lion. It's a great fight and I learned long ago never to sleep on Manny Pac.

All it takes from Manny is an explosion and suddenly you have a 10-8 round, an opponent doubting himself and you think 'Christ, he is meant to be 40!'

Said same and seems obvious and not his first time bouncing weights, that takes a toll as do punches. Lot's of people came around on Mikey in build up and that's respect and appreciation, but Spence was in a tough spot to look all or nothing himself. Mikey should take some time settle at 140 and I don't doubt that he can but this was a bridge too far once it was announced.

He's had a million fights already, this was his first "big" payday. And in surviving he can land another payday, going the distance with Spence will become a selling point for him now
