Wilder and Shelly said - we turned down $15 million last year, now we've turned down $120 million, what will they offer us next (with big smiles on their faces).

Also Wilder isn't a slave, he does what he wants and $120 million/Joshua is irrelevant to him. Also Eddie calls Shelly Shirley, which is disrespectful, American's don't like disrespect (these are his words).

To be fair , the one part I do agree with is Hearn calling him Shirley Winkle all the time. I said at the time, it wasn't even particularly funny and if he kept on saying it, it would backfire on him . Bit out of order from Hearn, but more cringey than anything.

Hearn badly misjudged the difference in sense of humour of Americans and Brits.

It's the same on here though, self-deprecation is confused with false arrogance, sneering. Sarcasm is taken literally. Americans (obviously not all) don't understand how or why anyone would laugh at themselves or downplay themselves. You must never accept defeat. Always thank god.
