Thats a tricky one though, there is still patient confidentiality and all that, those werent doctors affiliated with any boxing board of control. Its not much different than a doctor telling a guy with early stage cancer they need to quit smoking, or an obese person to change their diet and start doing something. Their job isnt to babysit them and make sure they do it.

But there shouldn’t be confidentiality. Like if a psychiatrist decides someone is a threat to themselves or others they can speak about a patient. It should be the same for doctors. Not only should they speak to licensing boards, they should be required to speak to licensing boards if they feel someone is unfit to continue their profession.

Then the fighter should have his own steps laid before him to prove he is fit to fight.

Well it says suspected seizures, so likely nothing was diagnosed. Then, he did prove he was fit to fight by passing the same medicals every other fighter is required to. If he lied about his situation and it wasnt detectable, you can only hold him accountable, however sad it is. With what is known these days about brain trauma, Id imagine a lot of doctors would rather just see boxing banned entirely. You dont need any prior problems whatsoever for the worst case scenario to happen in any given fight.
