So will Tiger Woods win the Masters today?

Wish I was at Augusta, so I could cough loudly before his shots. Crossing my fingers he won't win.

There are some real arseholes in the world and certainly a few professional sportsmen fall into that category..but Tiger Woods? Really. What is so annoying about him?

Tiger's the consummate hypocrite. Arrogant and aloof in his glory years... and now grudgingly seeming more human on tour after his disgraceful fall from grace with his personal scandal back in '09. You still read public opinion about the guy as a person, and deep inside he's the same arrogant SOB he used to be. Refuses to give autographs... rudeness to fans... the whole 9 yards. And to see the press fawn over him any time he makes a stir in a major championship, you'd think the Pope himself is playing out there. I root against him every time he plays.

So Tiger is playing against Canelo in a golf match, who are you supporting?

Woods is a rat and there is nothing more lame or pointless than hitting a ball into the ground over several hours. It takes away land that could be used for animals and trees and serves no actual purpose for humanity. There is meaning to being the fastest man, or the greatest boxer. Golf with its plodding about, bellies sagging, and occasional swinging is utterly futile. In Woods case that would be actual swinging too whence why everyone thinks he is a rat. That's your achievement in life? The global IQ is definitely 82.

I'd root for Canelo, just to humiliate Tiger. Then again, I'd root for Tiger in a boxing match against Canelo.

A great moment that. Trying to think of a bigger comeback in sport and it's difficult.

I had bets on Schauffele and Koepka and would have won 100 odd quid if either had won but I wanted Tiger to do it.

His own doing but his career went off rails for non golf reasons and as Paul Azinger said yesterday he went overnight from being one of the greatest athletes in the world (I've always had an issue with golfers being referred to as athletes but that's another matter..) to the butt of all the jokes on late night TV.


He would have beaten Nicklaus record I'm sure. And then the injuries hit him a bit later to add to his woes.

Don't think he'll beat Nicklaus 18 majors haul now but I take my hat off to him - well done sir

Cannot be anything else but a phenomenal sports as well as life comeback. Woods was written off as scrap material and became the punchline of jokes. Some of it deserved but he got back to his roots and recaptured greatness for at least a few moments.

HA! Tiger may have won this year's Masters.... but he just missed the cut at the PGA Championship. Still crossing my fingers that he won't catch the Golden Bear in career majors.
