Former junior lightweight and lightweight champion Diego 'Chico' Corrales will seek a third world title in a different weight class under the promotional auspices of Golden Boy Promotions, which has announced the signing of Corrales to a promotional contract. "At this point in my career, it is important that I can go into a fight knowing that the business outside is taken care of," said Corrales. "I wanted to be with a promoter who understands us fighters and who I can be with for the rest of my career. To be part of Golden Boy Promotions feels great. I feel happy, energized, and ready to take on all challenges and make another run at a world championship." Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya stated, "I know that Diego always gives it his best in the ring, and our promise to him is that Golden Boy Promotions will give him our best outside the ring." Golden Boy Promotions partner Sugar Shane Mosley, a close friend of Corrales, and his wife Jin, were instrumental in signing Corrales.

I am very intrigued with all this and Diego need to fight at a weight that his body is more suited for i...If the Chin is all there than we welcome another stellar fighter to an alreay stacked Division of allstars...I'm thinking Jr Welterweight-Welterweight is probably the greatest its ever been....What do you think

Dont know if Chico could cut it at LWW let alone welter. For all i like his style and heart i just dont think he could get past guys' as strong as Castillo, Cotto, Margarito, Williams, Hatton.......etc, and then the is the welters

Ya gotta think that the LWW and WW division's are two, if not Thee, hottest pair of divisions in the game at present!

CC mate,you're welcome. Remember though,Chico will be more comfortable at the weights and think of how rounded etc he would be at the weight,that big frame would look meaty and that power too,I would not count him out.

CC back my man. I totally agree,Diego will suit the weight,remember,he is 6 foot tall,he should be more comfortable and those punches will have more meat on them! I totally agree,147 is the hottest division right now and I'm sure Diego is going there,making 140 would be hard for him too! I would love to see him fight Tony and I actually love Chico too and think he would drop Margarito but Tony comes on srong as the fight goes on and he would wear Chico down and stop him late in a fight of the year contender in my opinion!
