If Eddie can do press conferences to announce fights without fighters the next step is obvious. Eddie can do the fight without fighters.

Let’s not be silly, if the IBF just granted him an exemption to fight Joshua then Ruiz is doing his proper paperwork. It’s evidence he intends to fight Joshua otherwise he wouldn’t bother filing with the IBF. Eddie, and more importantly the wildly inept DAZN people, need to step up and make the fight happen. I think that Ruiz is going to accept. He just said that he wanted it to be in the US or Mexico. He wouldn’t turn down that big of payday. He also went into the first fight knowing that in case of a rematch, he has no say in the venue.

I was rooting for AJ to win the rematch destructively because I want the AJ/Wilder fight to happen. But Eddie is such a constant lying dirtbag.... Hard not to root against all his fighters. In the end I will root for AJ, but phony AJ and Eddie make it hard.

One of Lennox arguments for the immediate rematch was that he was near the end of his career and had Manny Stewart go on the stand to explain that to the judge.

Ruiz is just playing hard ball and I think eventually have the rematch once he gets paid an even huge amount than what is in his contract.

This is what promoters do. It is almost there in the Job description. Arum, King etc were never any different.

Bottom line nobody outside of Ruiz, Joshua and their teams gives a shit about any of the shenanigans outside the ring. Who gets paid what... where the fight's held... and so on and so forth. Joshua's a likable guy, but is making a huge mistake by letting others run his show the way they're doing it.... regardless of what the job description says. His image is on the line.... and better to go down swinging in a rematch (or win and redeem himself)... than to be caught up in this (by now predictable in boxing) huge drama show... while the chubby guy across the pond is holding the belts that used to be his. No "shady decisions" here, ala Fury-Wilder, where it's still a matter of opinion who really won that fight. This was a good, old-fashioned beatdown... and by now Joshua should be willing to anything reasonable just for the chance to get Ruiz back in the ring.

And I hate Arum and King. But you don’t HAVE to be like that. Al Haymon puts on big fight after big fight, I’ve never once heard the man lie. Shelley Finkell, never heard him lie. And so on. There is money to be made without being a scumbag. It’s in the job description because people don’t stand up to it, they smile at Arum while he lies to them, cowards looking for the next interview, losing stories that are right in front of them.

I don't quite understand why Hearn and AJ are not bending over backwards to salvage his career and right this wrong . Ruiz knows he belongs and he's been paid and will be paid again, I can't fault him for playing some hardball and glad it sounds like they are opposed to Saudi zzzzzzz Arabia. He also has the options. First thing I thought before the dust settled is he'd be stripped over the politricks at some point.
