This is similar to AJ and Wilder. It did not matter who they successfully defended their title against everyone wanted the unification to prove who was the best in the division.
Problem with Crawford/Spence is Arum got rich dangling the May/PAC carrot all the while holding out by asking for an unrealistic percentage. Once they accepted the proper share we had the fight. Here they are doing the same in regards to Spence/Bud, 50/50 is simply not supported by the numbers. So the fight won’t happen until they decide to be realistic.
so Crawford can’t get 50/50 with Spence, but Porter can??

Crawford’s next move should be to leave top rank and take Loma with him. They need PBC/Harmon at this point, unfortunately for them. Loma less so, but Bud has zero legacy building competition where he is and the PBC guys can all make money fighting each other. Sucks, but that is where things are at.

Pacs not gonna fight Crawford, so as much as i hate the though of him fighting a lightweight, I'd say he needs to go after Mikey (if mikey will do business with TR) . He has to make a comparison to the other top dogs in the division. So unless thurmans supposed hand injury clears up, or he wants to be in a dogfight with porter at this point in his career. Mikey's probably the easiest (still on the pound for pound list and the weights probably not his best division). if he can beat mikey more convincingly than spence (don't know if he can KO Mikey but either more aggressively or a couple of flash knockdowns as mikeys been known to be caught cold early on.) He becomes the more noticeable elephant in the room to the more casual fan.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Mikey Garcia now becoming a gatekeeper and barometer for world class welterweight champions? Is that what he has become? Wasted career if it is.
