I love Jones... I think he has a 55/45 chance of losing to Peter... Even as a Manfredo fan I don't want to see it. Retire... Live life...

Last week Dan Rafael of ESPN.com confirmed that Roy Jones Jr vs Peter Manfredo was being discussed by both camps. With Manfredo's win this past Saturday over Joe Spina, the possiblities of Jones vs Manfredo has grown. However Rafael also reports that whether Jones-Manfredo comes off or not, Jim Thomas, advisor to Jones Jr is also working on another fight for Jones. Thomas told ESPN that he is talking to British promoter Dennis Hobson, who promotes Clinton Woods, about a rematch between Jones and Woods.

Thomas quoted by ESPN as saying that he is talking to Showtime about televising Woods-Jones II in "a March or April
    time frame."

Thomas added that Jones would actually be willing to go to England to face Woods, but Thomas added: "but it depends on the money. I think Roy would go to the moon for enough money."

Thomas was not ruling out Manfredo, saying: "Ideally, Roy could fight Manfredo in January and then do the Clinton Woods fight on Showtime a few months later."

How sad would it be for RJJ career if he fights Manfredo period.
Never mind the outcome of the fight.

Oh, come on man, he has about a 5% chance at the VERY MOST of losing to Manfredo. It's just the thought of the fight is absurd, Manfredo is not worthy, and its a bad situation for both guys.

No.. You're right... Manfredo is not even in the vicinity of worthy... But can he beat him?... He's got a shot.. Don't tell me Jones's last fight made you think "he's back".... He should be retired... He is one of the best of alltime.. It saddens me we are even speaking of this

Oh, I don't think hes back completely or nothing like that. I was glad he proved all these beotches callin themselves Jones fans wrong and beat Ajamu though. His legs still are not what they used to be at all, his chin is still messed up, and he is still somewhat gunshy. His handspeed is still amazing though and he seems to want to throw punches and win, unlike in the 3rd Tarver fight. It is sad, Damn Tarver and his eyes closed freakin punch, it screwed Roy all up. But it is what it is, and hopefully this fight does not ever happen. Manfredo would have about the same chance as Ajamu had, maybe a little less not bein a natural LH, maybe a little more bein little more skilled.

If Roy wants to be viewed as great as he was he needs to fight Tomaz Adamek and get the 175 title and THEREFORE have a reason for Joe to move up and fight him.
If roy could beat adamek! Adamek is proving to be one tough guy and i reckon if he tagged roy it could be lights out. Hes not an easy fight at all and roy definately dont wanna gamble with him.

Don't think Roy is scared of Adamek. Adamek is a warrior, but on a skill and power level he's probably bout equal to Woods, and Roy apparently wants Woods.

    Maybe Roy should just retire!
I mean, he will be in the best top 5 ever...arguably thee best ever.

He may as well, give it a rest. This will only turn him into a freak show and side show like Mike.

All the focus here seems to be on the RJJ v Manfredo bout, but personally I don't see anything in that one for RJJ at all, unless he views it as some sort of tune up on his route back to the top, and no doubt he believes that he can get back there again. For me, if Manfredo wins it gives him nothing but a pocketful of cash and the name of a washed up fighter on his record, and if he loses, which I think will happen, RJJ has just beaten a national fighter with very little credibility outside his home country, and is only being considered up there cause he was on the telly.

The one that needs to be made is RJJ v Clinton Woods. For me it could be a pick 'em fight, with Woods having improved from his drubbing against a peak Jones, and Jones, undoubtedly having waned. The big question is how much has he waned, and with the IBF Light-Heavy title on the line, it is a meaningful fight, and will prove a lot more than RJJ v Manfredo.
