Tell me how that teacher would break up a scuffle, how they would observe the students at the back, monitor group activities. This is the learning of today and it is a very physical job. I know someone with a disability and she finds it difficult. It is no picnic. You can mock standing for 4 hours at a time, but even for the able bodied all that walking about, kneeling, body action etc. It is not easy for anyone let alone someone with a missing leg. I know someone now with a broken leg right now and is out for a full term as there is simply no way around it. If that was permanent he probably wouldn't have a career. A teacher in a wheelchair just wouldn't work and that is no slight on their mental capabilities. It is just a physical fact of classrooms and I have been in hundreds.
