Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
So long as contributing isn't under threat of force I'm all for it, I do it myself when I'm able, everyone should. It brings us all together.
Government FORCING charitable giving via draconian taxation and handing out meager benefits, that creates resentment, laziness, and a sense of entitlement.
I'm quite well pleased if you notice and acknowledge the difference![]()

Myles Garrett on Mason Rudolph: “I know what I heard”
Classic.
To recap..... so defensive lineman Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns gets into a tussle with Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph... and in the process rips off Rudolph's helmet and bashes him over the head with it.
As a result, Garrett gets suspended by the NFL for the remainder of the season.
Now..... a week later..... Garrett says, oh by the way... did I mention Rudolph said a racial slur to me?![]()
Riiiiiight. I guess that little detail just slipped your mind and only now it becomes important, huh?
Oh.... oh.... he also says he understood that anything he said in appealing his suspension would remain private.... and I guess is appalled that it became public.
Any stand-up comedian not immediately leaping on this new material isn't doing his job.
Seriously though... it's sad when someone has to resort to the old "go to" defense to justify his actions.
Mason Rudolph did try to take Garrett's helmet off first.
A lot of shit gets said during games, I was never one to waste my time with that. You talk trash you put a target on your back.
It's true, trash talking is part of the game. But racial slur claims are an all-too-convenient "go to" when you have no other defense. The fact he brought it up a week later makes his case flimsier than a house of cards.
You're right, Rudolph tried (stupidly) to rip off Garrett's helmet first. He didn't succeed... and Garrett did. IMO, to bash him over the head with it crossed a line clearly drawn by the NFL.
Regardless of whether the league has become "pussified", a helmet swung full force at someone else's head by a 270-pound lineman is assault.
