Was it a case of Crawford underestimating Kavaliauskas? Maybe not as motivated as he would be against Spence or Porter.

They live, We sleep
It was a case of everyone (most) underrating Kavaliauskas. Boxing fans/pundits/media are the most arrogant in the world, continually overlooking guys they don't know anything about. There was enough substance in his career to expect a solid challenger.
Without doubt Crawford would have been sharper against a marquee name though.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
I think there was a bit of looking at him as just a formality and that's on the promotion too who didn't even see fit to respectfully..literally.. promote him by name. But I also think it was more about frankly Crawford fighting a not so smart fight and giving Kavaliauskas every opportunity in the book. Look he's strong and has solid inside timing but as the axiom goes you're only as good as your last performance and let's not kid ourselves and think that's not applicable for Kava who showed some holes last out. Crawford sat in front squared up and played to a raucous NY crowd and was seriously loading up after the 4th and fought with his arse on his shoulders for the beat down. Kavaliauskas did himself proud and will spring board off of putting Bud on his arse regardless of what the ref said. Crawford had better climb back in the front seat stop sticking his tongue out and get back to that switch hitter sharp shooting when he contemplates Spence or Porter or anyone in between.
Porter gives everyone trouble because of his style. So if that fight happens, I’m expecting Crawford to fight very disciplined. I think he would want to prove that he can beat Porter clearly.
Terence Crawford is the most overrated welterweight in the history of boxing
Crawford had a difficult moment, but after realizing that Kavaliauskas was tough, Crawford raised the level and beat him up
