Wow was an awesome night here . Were wondering where to hit and got to thinking (where the best place with the least people so we can see the most fireworks). We live 8 mile from the end of a peninsula with Melbourne up one end of the Bay some 26 miles down in the middle, Geelong another massive City is across the bay and up another smaller one Cario bay about 20 miles as the crow flies. They have been dredging a sand spit 800 yards out into our bay over this side,deep channel for th boats one side and five feet high of sand above water the other side. So 4 of us walked out there at 11:30pm expecting a crowd. We were alone, we sat out on the end of the spit on a circular sand bar in the bay,no wind at all, Stars out, 1/3 Moon dropping down over the entrance to the bay and dissapeared at 12:20 ,fireworks going off all around us in front of us on the beach and we got to see every town around the bay go off in front of us ,even the big cities behind were visible. Deck chairs,whiskey, Drop of red.. Happy New Year.

I was in Bruges for several days. Some crazy strong beers out there - one bar limited you to just 3 halves then wouldn’t serve you any more.

Well worth a visit.
