Yoel should be his manager, not his trainer. I don't think Yoel even has a boxing background. He was into martial arts if I am not mistaken.
Kickboxing. Great kickboxing champ. Went 1-1 as a pro fighter. Trained Zab Judah who also is skilled in martial arts and has a blackbelt in jiujitsu.

I think Yoel tells Zab the right things. I just don't think Zab listens to him. In the Tszyu fight Yoel told him to stop moving to his left because Tszyu was trying to move him into his right hand. Zab didn't listen and he went out into the second round and got knocked out. Thats why when Yoel was trying to hold him back and was talking in his ear he said to him again "You see what happened? I told you stop moving to your left because he's trying to walk you into the right hand!!!" Same thing for the Baldomir fight, he said Baldomir was looking for one shot so not to stand there and wait to get hit and use his jab. Zab didn't listen got tagged and almost stopped and he went back to his corner and told Zab "I told you he looking for one shot Zab why aint you listen!?!"

I think Yoel tells Zab exactly what to do. Zab just doesn't do it because Yoel doesn't demand his respect like Emanuel Stewart would do.

In the corner Yoel and Zab are still father and son and not boxer and trainer.
