Oh yes roy was bigger but.... he juiced Im sorry, you want to give hearns some juice..... hell be 170-175 easy... Ive been around steroids and I can tell you roy juiced, he moved up real fast did not put fat weight on like mm, he looked more like a small e holyfield, look at him at hopkins or toney a skiny but cut fighter

If they had ever fought I would pick Roy to win actually.

Hearns' prime was at 147(and potentially 154 if he had stayed)

Roy's prime was the time between 168 and 175. if Hearns had fought Roy at any of those weights he would have been crushed imo.

Wrong Roy Jones Jr. had better reflexes than anyone Hearns ever fought, and had better timing... Also if Ray countered off Hearns' jab he couldn't hurt Hearns with one punch, but Roy would likely knock Hearns out or at least hurt him with a strong cross... he hits alot harder than Hagler, and he would hit Hearns flusher than Hagler could. The one punch speed difference between these two and the reflex difference is too great for Hearns to overcome with such a weak chin... Roy when he was younger however I would be willing to bet could take a few rights from Hearns.

    That's a good point.

The steroid issue with RJJ was never really completely resolved.

An equal weight fight would go one of three ways:

    1. Hearns would knock Jones out cold early on.
    2. A tactical chess match, with Hearn's lightining jab eking out a close points victory.
    3. Jones tastes Herns' power early and runs for the remainder of the fight. Hearns wide UD.

    man
    roy vs.hearns?
both in theyre prime?(wouldnt happen, roys LHW at his prime, hearns was welter at his prime)
but if they fought like 3 years ago roy would kill em

but its funny to mention them 2 together
but if both was super mw or lhw at primes....it'll b like this....

Roy would be so careful of hearns
n hearns is just a lil bit sloppy in my eye
but if he caught u witta jab, then a hook...its over
but i think Roys reflexes and quickness woulda got da best of hearns
hearns would put roy throo a tuff fight

but Roy's quickness can get to hearns in the 7-8-towards the end rounds tho
    would be a classic fight

I'm also pretty sure if Roy landed that same kind of body shot like he landed on Virgin hill Hearns wouldn't get up.

Syntax, Tommy didn't have great success against elite except Duran? What about Pipino Cueves 10 defenses at welt, Wilfred Benitez 3 defenses and just beat Duran and Santos and was a good champ at 154, and Leonard he should have won against, and he beat Virgil HIll when Virgil was undefeated and 10 defenses also. Those are opponents. Who did Roy beat? Toney? That is it. Good win but not really great. The HOpkins fight was not the Bernard who was the legend. So really Roy only fought one good fighter in his prime. The Virgil fight was 1998 when Virgil was way past his prime. Tommy fought 7 superfights. Cueves, Leonard (2 times) Benitez,Hill, Duran. Roy did not fight the big fights. I think Tommy outjabs Roy and stops him in 4 rounds. Roy was not the kind of fighter who beats Tommy. Tommy had trouble with the brawlers and guys who were not afraid to take a shot. Roy is not in that category. Tommy was just better than Roy. Roy is like Floyd Mayweather, They look good against lower competition. Time to step up.. Tommy and Ray and Roberto and Marvin did.

Well good assesment of Tommy and his resume..The problem is with me at least is comparing fighters that peaked at different weight classes....Roy at Supermiddle, Light Heavy....Tommy Welterweight, Junior Middle, Middleweight....This fight isint even realistic...Roy is physically bigger and stronger than Tommy..Not to mention Faster and Quicker Reflexes..That is a great equalizer and advantage especially when you are already bigger than your opponent...

I think the weight division which both Roy and Tommy were closest to in prime would supermiddleweight, but you are right, they just do not match up at the same weight class as prime. Oddly enough now. Tommy and Roy are at the same weight class. Tommy weighed in 176 in his last fight last Feb, and Roy is 175. But at this point even though Roy is on the downside, Hearns I heard looks terrible with the guys he fought the last two years. And these are guys who really wouldn't have been his sparring partners before. I would have to pick Roy now.. But in the past, I think Tommy's style was good to beat Roy.
