Yes, they are an underappreciated, yet essential, part of the balance of nature.

Just think how many prostitutes there would be if there weren't enough truckers to murder them, thereby keeping their population down.

We would be overrun with 'ladies of the night', to the extent that they would become dangerous pests. There would be scores of them buzzing around street lamps on every corner. You couldn't even take your daily excercise walk without swarms of them following ,you shrieking out their mating call 'tenner for a blowjob, love'.

You would be settling down to watch Masterchef or University Challenge, and you would be constantly disturbed by their scabby little faces peering through your window making handjob motions at you.

There would be a dramatic increase in STDs, marriage breakdowns and social chaos.

Truckers are the wasps of humanity.
Have to imagine their backs are against the wall just finding clients with this virus and being hard pressed to cover ends meat. An overworked trucker has to feel like a lone soul perusing 2 star Vegas buffets. Have tongs will travel.

It is strange we have a infected nation warning us to stay away from places and people but all these people are told to go to one place, a grocery store. It actually sounds like a perfect plan to spread the virus. Ps that’s not a conspiracy and I know we have to eat it’s just an observation

They've turned into literal reunion centers. Whole families and 2 carts a piece yesterday..stopped right in the only aisle so no one could get by. Co-workers, cousins etc. 6 feet my arse. The disparity in protocols for chain groceries is very surprising. One Winn Dixie has all workers gloved, cart spray down and all masked. One a few miles down the road it's a patch work free for all.

To date only shortage I see are of all things tortillas shells . I'm a flour guy and can only find corn ones. Bit odd. Plenty of everything else. Even rows of TP

Mission tortillas shut down for 2 weeks for cleaning, after getting all their inventory blown out the first week of March. They should have been back online a week ago but they have a lot of catching up to do.

the war on agriculture continues. fake meat & gmo seeds will become the future. i have a mate that farms cattle & he is basically being forced out. processing plants are shutting down, he reckons he is going to sell his cattle for what he can get & go into hair sheep for the foreseeable future

The federal government, in the US, has been waging a relentless war against cattle ranchers, sheep producers and farmers for close to half a century now. Against any form of making a living from the land, really.

I hit Walmart today. It’s one of the Walmart’s with the grocery section. It’s my first grocery trip in three weeks. Had an orderly line outside, everyone six feet apart. Inside wasn’t bad but fresh veggies and meat were wiped out. Anyway it seems like everyone was dealing with the new situation. There always seems to be one idiot who is oblivious to the social distancing thing. I don’t freak out if someone gets close I work in tight quarters with 40 mostly insane people so social distancing isn’t always possible in my work facility, I accept that but this damn lady behind me was two feet behind me in the check out line as she couldn’t wait a couple minutes to grab the impulse buy candy. I’m thinking wtf lady what’s the rush. This happened to me three weeks ago I shot the dude a dirty look and he backed up. That’s fine maybe he just forgot but this damn lady was too focused on candy. I know two people who caught this wuhan shit one may be in for some rough times as she has MS. I’m not hyper vigilant about this stuff as my job increases my risks, I accept that but I think of my wife. I think when you are at the store, even if you have a bit of a fuck it attitude like I do follow the damn procedure. It’s not that difficult. Just give everyone room. I didn’t wear a mask, probably should have but I save them for work. FYI the main reason I went shopping was I ran out of cat litter. So my cats chilled happily at home while I go deal with this nonsense. I hope I don’t give my cats wuhan. Would have been a perfectly fine trip one lady had to fuck it up for me.

Alright Now it's getting serious! Hit 4 large grocery stores locally and zilch, does not exist on the shelf. Hit the big box places and a couple of pretty deep Spanish stores. Literally everything available. But fecking Fong's sriracha. Can pick up on amazon but much steeper price. And the last time I received liquids from them let's just say didn't go well.
