Just people operating on pure emotion rather than common sense or logic. Carole is just as bad as all the others only it doesn't seem like she breeds any of the cats. The breeding of the cats and constant need of cubs/kittens is an issue worth taking a look at.

Anyone who has a pet (much less an exotic pet) need to operate responsibly in the best interests of their pet(s)
