Is it true the top boxers don't have sex while training for fights

I don't see it as a boxing only question. Some choose not to no matter the sport but it still believed to be a myth as science shows. Therefore unless it causes a mental block in training ( cant see how ) it has no physical affects either way.

yes it can be adapted to mean any sport art or what ever you make it...
BUT this question IS boxing, lol its says do boxers not have sex while training for fights, so theres the relevence.. it is just that for this particular thread is all. lol

Two weeks to 1 month is the norm that most trainers will tell you to not have sex.
I think the theory is to get it out of your mind so you train hard and don't waist the energy on sex.
The last few days are the most important, that's when you can actually 'lose your legs' during the fight.

Why would sex be that big of a problem before fights for boxers Most of the names are fighting one or two fights a year, they surely can train narrowly for that...
